Kyu-Tsushima-Ke-Shin-Zashiki: Osamu Dazai's wartime evacuation home

[During the war], the writer Osamu Dazai evacuated to an annex of the Tsushima residence built for Osamu's older brother Bunji and his wife in 1922. Just like the Shayokan, it is a massive structure built in a semi-Western style.
This is the only one of Osamu's evacuation homes that still exists today. He wrote Pandora no Hako (Pandora's Box), Kuno no Nenkan (Yearbook of Agony), Shinyu Kokan (The Courtesy Call by Osamu Dazai), Fuyu no Hanabi (Winter Fireworks), and Toka Ton Ton (A Hollow Sound) at this residence.
This is also the only residence where Osamu lived after he made his debut as a writer. The residence's guidebook is popular with tourists for their vivid descriptions of the author.
